Would you like to adopt a dog? Dogs are only placed here in Sweden or in Switzerland. In Sweden I will personally carry out the preliminary checks and in Switzerland these will be carried out by my partners. Also, none of the dogs are transported by airplane. Either the dog is picked up personally here in Auktsjaur or it is brought to Switzerland by car with a sponsor. 

 

1. The first contact:
   Send us an inquiry by e-mail. You must include the dog's name and your details in the request.
   The telephone number is very important, as I will contact you by telephone. 

2. Fill in the placement questionnaire and send it to us.

3. Preliminary check:
   This check takes place at your home by appointment.
   The aim is to get to know you personally and find out whether the dog suits you.
   The dog will only be placed with experienced dog people. We do not consider first-time dog owners.​

4. Protection contract:
   Such a contract regulates all essential points regarding the keeping of the dog and states that you, as the new owner, offer the four-legged friend a home for life. Dog Rescue Auktsjaur always has a right of first refusal on the animal. This serves to protect the dog so that it cannot be traded or sold to third parties, or in the event that you can no longer keep the animal yourself due to a change in personal circumstances. The contract contains all the personal details of the adopter and the dog, the handover date, the handover location and the amount of the protection fee.

5. Adoption of the dog:
   As soon as all the formalities have been completed, your animal will be prepared for departure to Switzerland. You will receive the animal fully vaccinated and with a valid EU vaccination certificate.

6.  Move in of the dog:
   We are also available to answer any questions or solve any problems after the placement.
   Every new dog owner is obliged to attend dog training courses at the partner companies. These are listed in the protection contract.
    

If a dog has to be returned for any reason:
If for any serious reason you are no longer able to care for the animal (which of course we hope is not the case), we would ask you to let us know in good time.
Each of the dogs placed has a lifelong right to a place at Dog Rescue Auktsjaur.​​​​​​​
